We have identified an issue affecting customers using the new Express Checkout option. After completing their order, customers are being redirected to the wrong page, resulting in an error message instead of the order confirmation screen. The issue did not appear in our QA environment due to a merge irregularity, so it was not caught before release.
Impact:
- This issue only occurs if a user is paying using the new ApplePay Express Checkout. Regular checkout is unaffected.
- Customers may be unsure if their order was successful.
- In some cases, this has led to duplicate orders being placed - as the customer tries again.
- This can cause inconvenience for customers and additional refund handling for retailers.
Next Steps:
A fix is being prepared and will be deployed today.
We are reviewing our internal processes to ensure this does not happen again.
